Irish Confederate Flag, a short lived government, destroyed by the Cromwellian invasion.

While the main comparisons are from politics, there are also some smaller comparisons to be made from these wars. To begin, the Scottish share a history of the French Canadian, one where they play the lesser partner, but are no less significant in their overall history. Divided by religion, language, and culture the Scots, like the French where not necessarily against their reigning government, but often sought to better represent themselves in government and society. Their willingness to form their own military, defend their faith, and choose both sides of the conflict would prove that they where independent, and would be listened to.

Another would be the Irish and Native Canadians, both playing roles as well in their respective societies. The Irish, unfortunately not examined on this website would also fight for better rights, but their flat out alien ways of life would leave them persecuted. Like their Native counterparts, the Irish would be left with little in terms of government, and forced to adapt to the overarching British culture.

For this page, I will leave open to more additions in the future, or expanding on what is already here. The subject is immensely large, and can easily have more time put into writing down more information.
